River Bend Nature Center has been pleased to offer a series of guided interpretive nature hikes at no charge to the public. These environmental education presentations and hikes are made possible through a grant received from SC Johnson, A Family Company.
Last in this year’s series is a discussion and guided walk to identify ways that nature prepares to survive and thrive through the winter months. Following a brief presentation, a naturalist will guide participants on a leisurely hike through the forest and prairie. Hikers will observe the ways trees, plants, birds and animals are adapting to the colder seasons and will build a more insightful appreciation for the resilience of the natural world.
Be prepared to walk over wood chipped, grass, and gravel trails and at times uneven surfaces. This program is best suited for adults and older children.
RSVP’s encouraged to help plan staffing, but not required.
