Zenith Bookstore is proud to be part of Winter Out West 2026 in West Duluth, January 30th-February 1st. On Sunday, February 1st at 11:00 AM, Duluth children’s author Chris Monroe will read two of her books Sasquatch and Squirrel and String Ball to families in attendance. Chris will also have a fun book-related craft to make. If you have ever met Chris Monroe you KNOW that you are in for a treat! Invite your friends for this cozy winter story time. This event is free and open to the public. Watch for details soon about the many other fun activities during Winter Out West 2026 sponsored by the West Duluth Business Club.Chris Monroe is an author, illustrator, visual artist, and cartoonist. She is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and lives in Duluth, MN. She is the author illustrator of twelve picture books and one collection of comics. Her comic strip Violet Days was in print for over 22 years. She has illustrated picture books for other authors including Jane Yolen, and Kevin Kling. Her artwork can be seen at Lizzard's Gallery in Duluth as well as in the permanent collection of the Tweed Museum. Her book Monkey with a Tool Belt has been adapted into the Netflix series Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Tool Belt.
