Have you ever wanted to preserve some of the stunning colors from your garden? Learn how to grow a garden specifically to make natural dyes for dyeing fabrics and fibers. Krysten Powell, from Suncatcher Flower Farm right here in Brunswick, will give an overview of how to select plants and flowers specifically for dyeing, different techniques for dyeing fabrics, and sustainable ways for sourcing fiber. She will bring in samples of dyed fabrics and will give a demonstration of dyeing a garment during the workshop.Participants will leave with resources for starting their own dye garden, recipes for making a natural dye, and a new appreciation for color!
This workshop will be held in-person at Curtis Memorial Library in the Morrell Meeting room.
