Need a break from the hustle of the season? Do you want to spend some time in nature? Then, join the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center on Saturday, December 13th for Winter Fun Day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a variety of outdoor and indoor winter activities throughout the day. Outdoor activities include snowshoeing or hikes, nerf station and kids’ games or gather around the campfire for S’mores and hot cocoa. You can also read a winter animal story along our Tale Trail and do a self-guided ‘Build a Snowman’ scavenger hunt. Make sure to dress for the outdoors and get outside!Indoors we’ll have children’s crafts, view the updated exhibit gallery, see our live animals, and meet some local artists. Our talented local vendors will have booths inside the Nature Center for you to shop for holiday gifts. Vendors include Lela Heinman, H & H Designs; Crystal Huls, The Untwisted Fibre; and Ella Pearson. The Nature Center Gift Shop also has some great items for the holidays.
This event is free and open to the public and designed for all ages. Thanks to Gilchrist Foundation for co-sponsoring this event and to Jolly Time Pop Corn Company for providing popcorn.
