About this Event
Winter Breathwork Reset:
Come join us for an evening of rest, connection, and renourishment in mind, body, and spirit! This in-person event at will support releasing of tension and stress built throughout the holiday season, restoring a sense of connectedness and grounding with self and others.
The breath is a healing modality and breathwork a form of active meditation. It releases physical stress and tension, emotional blocks, and when used consciously and connected, can tap us into the unconscious realms. It brings us into the present moment, in connection with our intuition and with Spirit. In the present moment, true presence, is when we feel most at ease and able to access gratitude, peace, and joy.
Whether you're new to breathwork or a seasoned pro, this event is for everyone looking to step into winter with a renewed perspective. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with yourself and others in a supportive environment. See you there!
Winter's Lessons:
January is an auspicious time of year, as it can hold some conflicting energies between natures rhythms and the Gregorian calendar. There is loud messaging around us to start the "new year" with goals and a new version of ourselves.
Yet when we look out the window, we notice the trees are bare of leaves, the ground is mostly barren, and nature is reminding us that laying fallow and resting are part of this cycle we call life.
Spring will return, new life will grow, and we must not skip this part of the cycle. We can trust there is much here to receive. And we can use the breath to support this exploration.
Grief:
For many of us, the holidays can trigger feelings of grief. Nostalgia and remembrance, or actual loss can make the holidays lonely and difficult. The breath is immensely supportive for processing and being with our grief. We will go slow and kindly, inviting the body to soften and let go when it is ready.

About Instructor:
Christy Doucette, she/her
Christy is a licensed professional counselor, yoga therapist and teacher, and breathwork facilitator. Her work is trauma informed, body centered, and heart led. Therapy sessions are done primarily outside (and zoom), using movement, awareness of body and breath, and incorporates grounding practices throughout each session. Her work can be found at www.christydoucette.com
Testimonial:
The feeling of safety Christy emits as a breathwork facilitator is so strong, as is her intuition in knowing what vocal and physical support is needed in the moment to move your energy. She has been a resource for me in times of returning from family and gearing up for travel. Her ability to ground and clear my energetic field has been a vital tool to help me integrate both before and after these experiences. Whether it be trauma, grief, or overwhelm she allows my body to somatically move any stagnation that no longer belongs or energy that is not mine to hold on to. It is a true gift to be in her presence. Christy is the advocate I desire for my wellness journey. - Nora L.
