The Indianola Public Library is hosting a Winter Break chess tournament! Everybody will play all rounds, and prizes will be awarded for the top players.All participants need to know the rules of chess, but no previous tournament experience is required.
Registration is required and begins December 1.
Limited to 24 players! Must be students in grades K-12
Tournament type: 4-5 round Swiss system (All players will play all rounds)
Time Control: G/5; +5i (each side has 5 minutes to make all moves, with a 5-second bonus after each move).
Rounds Times: Round 1 will start at 1:00. All other rounds will start ASAP. The tournament should end around 3:00 or 3:30 p.m. All players must be present for all rounds.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to top 3 places.
Registration: On-site registration only if participant limit (24 players) allows.
Snacks will be provided. (e.g., granola bars, fruit snacks, and water)
