Winter Blast – Rock the Mic 2025 is back!!! This exciting Karaoke Contest is presented by Fusion Entertainment, and will award over $2000 in Cash and Prizes! 25 Finalists will compete On Stage AT Winter Blast, Saturday Feb 1, 2025. These amazing performers will sing their hearts out for the crowd, and THE AUDIENCE WILL VOTE to help the judges determine the winners!1st Place will win $1000 Cash, an overnight stay at Soaring Eagle Casino AND have a future guest appearance with The Persuasion Band! Additional Cash and Prizes will be awarded to the Top 5 Singers at Winter Blast.
Contest is open to everyone* 21+. Qualifying Audition Rounds are listed below. The Finals are at Winter Blast, Saturday Feb. 1 from 7pm-11pm.
All Qualifying Audition Rounds are at 526 Main – Royal Oak during Karaoke Night.
· Thursdays: Jan 9, 16 & 23
· WILD CARD ROUND - Thursday Jan 30
· During Karaoke Night - 9pm – 1am

*You are not eligible to enter if you are performing with another band AT Winter Blast 2025.
NOTE: There will also be opportunities for the General Public to sing Karaoke at Winter Blast! They will not be a part of the contest, but there will be time to sing on stage. Sign-up information will be available at Winter Blast.
FORMAT:
· Each Qualifying night, Singers will audition for a spot in the Finals at Winter Blast. Each night, UP TO 5 Singers will be chosen to win a “Golden Ticket”, that will advance them directly to Winter Blast.
· Up to 10 additional singers will advance each night to the WILD CARD ROUND. (More WILD CARD Info below)
· At the end of the 3 audition nights, up to 15 singers will be in the finals via the Golden Tickets.
· The remaining 10 slots will be awarded at the WILD CARD ROUND.
· If a singer gets a WILD CARD slot (or no slot at all), they are encouraged to audition again on another night to try for a Golden Ticket.
· Singers are encouraged to arrive early at Audition Rounds to sign up. Contest will usually start between 9:30 – 10:30pm. You can also sign-up anytime on a Thursday for THAT night, by texting our Karaoke Sign-up Line at 248-688-0017.
We MAY limit Auditions to the first 25 people to sign-up, or cut off entries based on time depending on the night. This is necessary to ensure we can fit all the contestants into the night as well as balance the evening with NON-CONTEST Karaoke Singers.
If you have issues with arrival time due to work, just text us at 248-688-0017. We can work something out with you!
· Each Qualifying night will also have regular karaoke for anyone not entering the contest

WILD CARD ROUND:
· Thursday January 30 at 526 Main – Royal Oak 9pm
· All Wild Card Singers will compete for the remaining spots at Winter Blast
· This will be determined by an AUDIENCE VOTE!
· Results will be announced that same night.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
We are looking for the best talent in VOCALS, PERFORMANCE AND CROWD REACTION. So, be prepared to PERFORM, SING, & BRING YOUR CROWD!
Also, Fusion Entertainment Hosts Julie D & Dyl are available for advice, coaching, guidance and judges feedback to ALL contestants, before and after any competition round. Feel free to ask us questions. We want to help everyone give their best performances!
· VOCALS will be judged on Pitch, Control, Tone & Range.
· PERFORMANCE will be judged on general stage presence, audience interaction, energy and star quality
· CROWD REACTION, as you will be performing AT Winter Blast, we need to see you will ENTERTAIN the crowd, so your Song Choice and Audience Response is a big factor in judging. Pick crowd favorite songs and bring your own cheering section!!! As AUDIENCE VOTE is a huge part of the final rounds, be sure to round up your friends and get them ready to come support you!
The finalists will be performing AT the Winter Blast Festival, in front of HUNDREDS of people. So we are looking to PUT ON A SHOW. We want singers who will ENTERTAIN A CROWD and sound amazing!
Remember…even if you don’t advance on your first qualifying night, we are sending 25 people to Winter Blast! Be sure to come back another night and try again! It’s VERY COMMON for singers to advance on their 2nd or 3rd try. Sometimes it’s as simple as a song change to get that Golden Ticket!
RULES:
· Singers must be 21+.
· ALL SONGS MUST BE CLEAN VERSIONS & FAMILY FRIENDLY PERFORMANCES. ABSOLUTELY NO PROFANITY ALLOWED.
· Contest is open to everyone*: Solos OR Duet/Trio (You may compete as both, but limited to One Duet/Trio)
· You must perform to a musical karaoke track
· Original songs are not encouraged
· Songs may be limited to 5 minutes long
· Any genre is welcome! But fun, upbeat, crowd favorite songs are HIGHLY encouraged and generally score better with judges.
· Only SMALL handheld musical instruments are allowed (i.e. Harmonica or tambourine)
· Contest has no Entry Fee, but you need to make purchases within the bar and support the venue/contest sponsor.

*If you have won 1st Place in a Fusion Entertainment contest in the last calendar year, you may still enter this contest. However, you are not eligible to win FIRST place in Winter Blast - Rock The Mic.
