About this Event
Join the Canadian Pride Historical Society for a guided walking tour exploring key places, stories, and milestones connected to the history of Pride in Winnipeg.
Beginning at Vimy Ridge Park, the tour will follow a route connected to Winnipeg’s early Pride history, including former community spaces, sites connected to local organizing and visibility, and locations tied to important moments in Manitoba’s human rights history.
Along the way, participants will explore stories connected to the Sherbrooke Street area, Broadway, the Manitoba Legislative Building, Memorial Park, Winnipeg’s early 2SLGBTQIA+ club and community spaces, and The Forks.
The tour will end at The Forks around the time the Pride Winnipeg Festival begins, allowing participants to continue into the festival after the walk.
