We are proud to present to you today the top three laureates of the 2024 Buchet International Cello Competition. Named after the Buchet family of Belgium, founding patrons of the Belgium Cello Society, this year’s cello competition has attracted over 100 applicants from around the world and only seventeen candidates were invited to the live rounds here in Belgium. The competition took place earlier this week on 11 and 12 November at the Royal Conservatory of Mons in front of an esteemed jury including cellists Roel Dieltiens, Frans Helmerson, Marie Hallynck, Anne Gastinel and Han Bin Yoon, as well as directors of leading Belgian cultural institutions such as Ulrich Hauschild (Flagey), Judith Van Eeckhout (Brussels Philharmonic), and Veerle Simoens (Gent Festival van Vlaanderen).
