Chicago-based electro pop duo WINGTIPS comprises Vincent Segretario & Hannah Avalon, and was officially formed in 2015 by Vincent after having informally used the moniker for a number of previous experimental solo performances. Their debut record, “EXPOSURE THERAPY”, was released in 2019 on seasoned Canadian alternative label Artoffact Records, and is best described as an androgynous sound of transition. Interpolating darkly shimmering layers of angular guitar and pulsating darkwave, WINGTIPS sharpen their anthemic rush with an increasing penchant for melody and an atmosphere equally informed by post-punk as sweeping electronica. "EXPOSURE THERAPY" is a contextualization of new romantic for post-millennial end times, and a refreshing mix of synthpop and darkwave with hooks so compelling they are cinematic in scope. In late 2020, the duo teased a stylistic shift towards a more bombastic pop sound with their cover of the Savage Garden single “TEARS OF PEARLS”. The track garnered excited press acclaim, and was lauded by none other than Savage Garden vocalist Darren Hayes himself. WINGTIPS recently announced their sophomore LP, “CUTTING ROOM FLOOR”, due out September 3rd on Artoffact
RONNIE STONE
https://open.spotify.com/artist/22WVDAsJmwZUs0XmenkiFU
Ronnie Stone seems to have traveled from both the past and future simultaneously, bringing with him a unique style of contemporary synth-pop that seamlessly blends nostalgia with the bleeding-edge of modern dance music. The NYC-based producer and multi-instrumentalist writes and records all of his music, utilizing a massive arsenal of 80’s synthesizers to cook up dance-pop gold for the freaks and the loners. His latest album, Ride Again (Feeltrip Records), is the culmination of a decade spent dwelling in the shadows at nightclubs and warehouse parties. Inspired by the solace and epiphanies he found on the dance floor, he blends New Wave with the groovy and persistent infectiousness of Techno and House. Since the inception of the project in 2014, Ronnie has built up a loyal following in the NYC scene. Ronnie and his performance bandmate, Rosa Luna are passionate about creating an immersive environment in which to showcase their art and music. Their fogged-out spaces and intricate light shows act as a portal into Ronnie’s retro-dystopian nightclub fantasy. Emerging from the haze in full leather, Ronnie takes the stage as if every nightclub was a packed stadium. As soon as he starts to sing, you believe him.
