WINE WALK from Dirtopia Trail Centre @MURATIE Wine Estate
Saturday 23 November
This is a social hike of 3.5km total, starting at Dirtopia Trail Centre at Muratie Wine Estate, where you’ll be treated to a glass of Lady Alice MCC (with or without orange juice) on arrival from 08h30
Hikers follow the trail markers from 9am on their own time.
It is an approximately 2km hike that leads to the look-out point, where there are views of Simonsberg and Table Mountain in the distance.
Here there will be two white wines and two red wines to taste from Muratie.
Bring good (closed) walking shoes, backpack with water, hat, snacks (if you like), jacket and of course water bottle. This is a relaxed event with lots of socializing and so that you can enjoy the Wineland scenery of the Stellenbosch outdoors!
Ensure you book by the Friday before event by 12h00. Limited tickets and all must be done online.
The Trail Centre will be open early for snacks and cold drink sales. Please note that any drinks before, during or after the walk is for your own account.
VENUE: Start and finish at Dirtopia Trail Centre, Muratie Wine Estate, Stellenbosch
TIME: For registration from 08h30, so that we can start the walk by 9am and will be back by 11h15/30
DISTANCE: Approximately 3.5km
COST: R170 adults
Kids U18 R60 and will receive one juice instead of wine
INCLUDES: Day permit for marked route and wine tasting on top of the mountain. One glass of MCC on arrival.
Wear good walking/hiking shoes – you are climbing a mountain with over 200 wooden steps & various terrain. Bring a jacket, a hatcarry your own water and perhaps some snacks to enjoy on the mountain.
SCHEDULE:
08h30 – 08h55: Registration. You will receive an armband that will give you access to the route and wine tastings.
09h00: Start the walk at leisurely pace.
A short briefing will take place before you follow the marked route.

09h45/10am: Arrival at Tasting of 4 Muratie wines. Kids will receive a juice.
11h00: start walking back – approximately 1.5km down on the hiking trails
11h30/12h00: Arrival back at Dirtopia Trail Centre.
Muratie wine sales will be open. Please book a table at the Farm Kitchen if you'd like to have some lunch.
