Join us for a special evening of exceptional wines, delicious food, and expertly curated wine and cheese pairings. Hosted by John Davies of McArthur Ridge and Kāpiti Ambassador Chef Todd Thorburn, the evening will showcase a premium selection of Central Otago wines from McArthur Ridge alongside two superb Italian reds.
Each wine will be thoughtfully paired with Kāpiti cheeses, with Chef Todd guiding guests through the flavour profiles, contrasts, and unexpected combinations that make wine and cheese matching such a memorable experience.
The evening also includes a delicious buffet dinner, along with special one-night-only wine offers available for purchase on the night.

About Our Hosts
John Davies of McArthur Wines has been selling wine for 15 years, and enjoying it for too long to say in writing. His passion has seen him visiting great wineries across New Zealand, South Australia and in the Napa Valley. When a role that involved selling the amazing McArthur Ridge wines came along, he jumped at the chance. As the Auckland Manager for the company, he's seen the delight the wines have brought to so many. At this event he'll talk about why Southern Tor and Lilico Rose have become his favourite ever Pinot Noir and Rose respectively and introduce you to the whole range. John is alos very familiar with the Prodotti stable and he will sample and provide tasting notes for two exceptional reads that contrast with the central Otago flavours.
Chef Todd Thorburn is a third-generation hospitality professional who grew up in his family’s restaurants. With more than 25 years’ experience, Todd has worked across all styles and facets of the kitchen throughout New Zealand, Australia, and internationally. Todd has competed in, won, and now judges numerous national and international culinary competitions, helping to mentor young chefs and give back to the industry that has given him so much. Passionate about wine and cheese pairing, Todd will match each wine with a selection of Kāpiti cheeses — creating some delicious and unexpected flavour combinations throughout the evening.
