The Wine Active Compounds (WAC) conference and the In Vino Analytica Scientia (IVAS) symposium will become a joint conference in 2026. The IVAS symposium provides a forum for researchers to present advanced research on the analytical science of grapes, wine, and spirits, while WAC promotes interdisciplinary studies that consider active compounds in the experimental and human/social sciences of vine and wine.
The WAC-IVAS conference sessions will include:
1. Chemical reactions in wine (stability, aroma, aging)
2. Nontargeted analysis and chemometrics.
3. Chemical analysis of grapes, wines, spirits, and by-products.
4. Biotechnology, microbiology and genetic approaches towards better grape and wine quality.
5. Sensory analysis, wine styles and consumer perceptions.
6. Innovations in viticulture and enology in the face of societal, environmental and economic challenges.
This will be the 14th instalment of IVAS and the 7th instalment of WAC.
