AMERICAN CANVASESJoin the Ball State University Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Jeremy Harmon, and the Wind Ensemble, led by Dr. LaToya A. Webb, for an inspiring evening of music celebrating the American spirit as we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary.
Featuring music by Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, Frank Ticheli, William Grant Still, and other favorites such as "The Stars and Stripes Forever." This concert presents a series of musical “canvases” reflecting the many voices and traditions that shape the American experience.
The Ball State Bands are honored to welcome guest conductor Dr. Russel Mikkelson, Director of University Bands at The Ohio State University, and to feature former BSU Professor of Saxophone Dr. George Wolfe as soloist on the spiritual Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child.
We invite you to join us for an evening of music that inspires reflection, celebrates tradition, and brings our community together.
