Friends, family members, and carers are very welcome to attend appointments.
This monthly Community Sight Loss Hub offers local sight loss advice for blind and partially sighted people and those supporting them. It is suitable whether you have been blind or partially sighted for a long time, are newly diagnosed, or are supporting someone else. People attend for different reasons, including one-off advice, ongoing support, or information about local services.
Advice and support from your Community Sight Loss Advisor
At this hub, your local Community Sight Loss Advisor offers practical, personalised advice to help you manage daily life and understand your options. They can:
Demonstrate equipment to support everyday tasks
Offer tips for managing at home or when out and about
Explain eye conditions, registration, and certification
Discuss reading options with sight loss
Share information about local and online services
Provide advice on finances and employment
Introduce magnifiers and electronic equipment
Explain our services and signpost to other organisations
