Wills for Heroes: Serving Cary First Responders

Wills for Heroes is a free legal clinic offered by the North Carolina Bar Foundation. Volunteer attorneys draft simple wills, health care power of attorney, financial power of attorney, and advance directives, documents for first responders and their families, free of charge. First responders who are eligible for this clinic include active and sworn firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS personnel.

Wills for Heroes clinics are conducted in a part virtual/part in-person format designed to reduce the risk of personal contact, in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The in-person notary clinic will be held at the Cary VFW Post, 522 Reedy Creek Rd #4116, Cary, NC 27513.

By completing this registration, you are committing to one virtual appointment on February 5, 2025, and an in-person drop-in on February 6, 2025.

VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT: a 10 am or 12 pm virtual/Zoom meeting on February 5, 2025, to meet with a volunteer attorney to review your client questionnaire and prepare your documents. A Zoom meeting link will be emailed to you before the clinic; you must be able to access a Zoom meeting via a computer or mobile phone to participate.

IN-PERSON NOTARY CLINIC: Drop-in hours with a notary to print and sign your documents held at the Cary VFW Post, 522 Reedy Creek Rd #4116, Cary, NC 27513, on February 6, 2025, from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. No appointment is necessary, you will be able to drop in at a time that fits your schedule.
