During this 3 hour masterclass learn the basics of willow weaving, with expert basket maker and willow weaver Louise Brown. From manipulating and twisting the willow to essential techniques you will learn all the basic skills.
By the end of the session, with Louise's help you'll make a beautiful willow plant support for sweet peas, clematis, French beans - in fact almost anything that needs support in the garden. Or, simply placed in your garden border, its statuesque shape adds height and interest, regardless of whether you encourage anything to grow up it.
Your finished 'wigwam' will be approximately 6-7ft (1.8-2m) in height, and 16-20” (50-60cm) in diameter at the base. So, do make sure you can fit this in your car to take home!
The workshop will end with tea, coffee and cake and the chance to pick a lovely bunch of fresh flowers.
All materials, tea and cake will be provided. Please dress for the weather. Limited to 10 participants.
