Join us for a relaxed crafty morning making your own willow dragonflies!
This hands-on workshop at Bransford Community Farm is a great introduction to some techniques used in traditional willow crafting.
We'll make a simple spiral basket to practice the spiralling pattern technique, and then you'll go on to create your own dragonfly sculptures for your garden. You should have enough time to complete two dragonfly bodies and pick your best one to add wings to!
This workshop will be taught in a small, friendly group with a maximum of 6 people.
We'll include a short break for everyone to stretch their fingers, and refreshments will be available from the Community Cafe at the farm.
All tools and materials will be supplied and no previous experience is required. Please note though that this project does require a good level of finger strength and dexterity - you'll need to be able to grip and bend fairly thick willow tightly.
Learn some traditional crafting skills and create something unique for your garden!
