William Crighton (NSW) - Stripped & Solo (Colonial Drift Tour)
Craft Music presents William Crighton — Colonial Drift: Stripped & Solo, live at Kidogo Arthouse, Fremantle, on Saturday 12 September 2026 — part of Joanna's Kidogo Candlelit Winter Series, returning this August and September with a brilliant line-up of WA and East Coast artists, and our famous nostalgic menus.
ARIA Award winner and pioneer of Bush-Psych, William Crighton is one of the most distinctive voices in Australian folk rock. His songs carry the weight of land, spirit and struggle — raw, resonant, and grounded in truths both ancient and immediate. Stripped back to just voice and guitar, his performances feel less like concerts and more like gatherings: intimate, charged, and quietly unforgettable. This tour celebrates the release of his fourth studio album, Colonial Drift — a body of work that reckons with country, history and identity through Crighton's unmistakable lens.
About the Art Candlelit Winter Series
This winter we're feeling a little nostalgic — so we're returning to our Soiree roots, bringing back the simple menus that launched our Soiree Series in the middle of Covid and made us famous. Expect a delicious, home-cooked "nostalgic" supper, served with soul. No table menus — you'll see the night's menu when you choose your artist and book your tickets.
We're proudly not a restaurant. Kidogo is an artist's concept of the best night out — a beautiful heritage venue perched beside the ocean (you can hear the waves as you eat), with stunning ambience, cosy candlelit lighting, spectacular acoustics, and curated high-end, collectable original art on the walls. Paired with the very best of Australian singers, songwriters and musicians, it's an unforgettable evening — and nothing like anywhere else in WA.
So simple. So homely. So nostalgic. Very intimate.
We're a small venue with a huge, loyal following — and our tickets always sell out fast.
On the Menu
All suppers begin with Joanna's homemade Irish soda bread, served warm from the oven, followed by your choice of soup:
Seafood chowder — white wine velouté with poached seafood, potato, sweet corn and fresh herbs.
Tomato, fennel & borlotti bean — a hearty, rustic soup with tomatoes and tender borlotti beans forming a rich base, lifted by the subtle anise of fennel. (Vegetarian, GF, Vegan)
To finish, a warm bread and butter pudding. Gluten-free vegan ice cream available on request. (GF, Vegan)
Doors open at 6:00pm, for 6:30 start.
