About this Event

Discover the William Booth Walking Trail of Nottingham!

Join the cureator of the William Booth Birthpalce Museum for a walking adventure through Nottingham, following in the footsteps of William Booth. Follow a trail of historical facts to discover the truth about the co-founder of the Salvation Army's formative years in Nottingham. As you visit places associated with Booth, you will pass some of the city's sites of interest, including: the Council House, St Mary's Church, the Lace Market Theatre and St Stephen's Church (Sneinton).
To start, meet at 2pm directly outside the Nottingham Tourism & Travel Centre on Smithy Row, Nottingham NG1 2BY, just off Old Market Square. The whole event (guided walk with museum visit at the end - free entry to museum) should last approximately 2 hours and is about 1.8 miles in length. At the end of the walk attendees are welcome to visit the museum (The Salvation Army, Sneinton Road, NG2 4QG), which will stay open until 5pm for walk registrants (free entry, donations welcome). Some uneven ground will be covered, so please wear suitable footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather. The walking tour will go ahead regardless of the weather. Free, but booking is essential (spaces limited to 15 people).

Lace-up your shoes and come along for a memorable adventure!
