About this Event

Interested in becoming a Wildlings Parent Volunteer? We’d love to meet you!

This is our required in-person training for anyone interested in volunteering during our Fall Wildlings Forest School drop-off classes.

Wildlings are welcome to attend! In fact, we encourage it. Having children present gives us wonderful real-life opportunities to practice the language, guidance, and safety skills we use during every Wildlings class.

10:00 to 11:00 AM

Wildlings Information Session

During the first hour, we’ll introduce you to the Wildlings philosophy and walk through the basics of our program, including:

• Our child-led, nature-based approach
• A typical Wildlings class schedule
• Safety practices and expectations
• What makes Wildlings unique
• An overview of the Parent Volunteer Program
• Time for questions and answers

This hour is a great opportunity to learn more about Wildlings, even if you’re still deciding whether volunteering is right for your family.

11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Required Parent Volunteer Training

The second hour is for families who wish to move forward with the Parent Volunteer Program.

We’ll walk step by step through a Wildlings day from a volunteer’s perspective, including:

• Volunteer roles and responsibilities
• Supervision and safety procedures
• Water play expectations
• Risk management and hazard awareness
• Our communication style with children
• Emergency procedures
• Volunteer policies and expectations

At the end of the training, our leadership team will review the day’s participation and reach out within the following week with next steps for those selected to continue the volunteer process.

Selected volunteers will then complete:

  • An official volunteer application
  • Fingerprinting and background screening
  • CPR and Basic First Aid certification (provided and paid for by We Grow Wildlings)

Once all requirements have been completed, you’ll be eligible to register for Wildlings classes as an official Parent Volunteer.

Parent Volunteer Benefits

As a Wildlings Parent Volunteer, you’ll receive:

• Free enrollment for one Wildling in the class you volunteer with
• Priority registration for any additional Wildlings you’d like to enroll
• The opportunity to learn alongside your child while helping create a safe, magical learning environment for our entire community

If you have any questions before the training, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

We can’t wait to meet you! Philippe Park is one of our favorite Wildlings classrooms, and we’re excited to welcome new families who are passionate about helping children grow wild.
