TWILIGHT PADDLE • WE PADDLE BY MOONLIGHT 🦇✨
As the Texas heat fades and golden hour melts into blue hour, the Greenbelt changes personalities entirely.
The river quiets. The air cools. Bats begin sweeping across the evening sky, fireflies flicker beneath the trees, and the moon rises over the river corridor. Then our boards start to glow.
Every paddler receives two 2-foot glow sticks to light up their board, plus a free mini flashlight for the paddle. As the group moves downriver, those glowing boards reflect across the dark water and turn the Greenbelt into something completely different after sunset.
And before we even launch, there’s another show happening overhead. Hundreds of martins gather around the historic iron bridge at 428, swirling through the sky before settling in for the evening.
This isn't a race. It’s a slow, social paddle built around the atmosphere: moon views, bats, fireflies, wildlife and glowing boards drifting beneath the canopy. 🌙🛶✨
🕗 SCHEDULE
Meet: 6:00 PM at the 428 / Greenbelt Access
Launch: 6:30 PM sharp
Start & Finish: Historic Iron Bridge at 428
Arrive early enough to get checked in, set up your glow sticks and watch the martins gather around the bridge before we launch south into the Greenbelt.
✨ YOUR GLOW PADDLE INCLUDES
Two 2-foot glow sticks for every paddler, positioned on either side of your board's front bungees for maximum glow on the water.
Free 2-inch mini flashlight for every paddler.
Bring your own extra glow if you want. Once darkness settles in, the more glowing boards on the river, the better.

🌤️ WHAT TO BRING
Evening paddles are typically cooler and more comfortable than daytime paddles, although Texas humidity occasionally refuses to read the itinerary.
Bring water, bug spray, a small dry bag for essentials and a light snack if desired.

🍹 FOR OUR SOCIAL PADDLERS
Twilight paddles have their own rhythm.
Conversations get quieter. The group spreads out. Paddles dip through dark water while little streaks of color from the glow sticks trail across the surface. Somewhere overhead, bats are working the night shift and the frogs have apparently booked the entire venue.
Then the moon appears through the trees.
That’s the paddle. 🌙
Part adventure, part wildlife experience, part floating happy hour without the bar stools.
Alcoholic beverages are permitted but must be kept in opaque containers.
