A walk with Iolo Williams into Cwm Idwal looking at Upland specialists of birds, flowers, geology and animals. The cwm is a nature reserve, which has had sheep excluded so offers real insight into what our mountains could/should look like. Its an area that inspired Attenborough and Darwin and is a lovely place to walk. We'll only cover 3-4km across around 6 hours as we discuss what we see. Theres some uneven terrain.Iolo needs little introduction, a TV presenter and author but first and foremost a superb naturalist, he is engaging and charismatic. Joining myself and Iolo is Dewi Davies, a geologist, works in Cwm Idwal for the National Trust, he is also a Mountain Leader and former Snowdonia National Park Warden. The walk will go ahead regardless of the weather and is priced at £109. These usually sell out quickly so we take a £25 non refundable deposit and look for the balance nearer the time. It will be a fun and packed with learning and ancedotes. Iolo will present in English but use Welsh names too and describe Welsh stories and culture.
