Wildlife Havens: Creating Safe Spaces for Backyard Creatures
A Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Workshop
Overview:
Want to make your yard a haven for local wildlife? Join us for Wildlife Havens: Creating Safe Spaces for Backyard Creatures, a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to support birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, and amphibians using Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles. This class will focus on simple, sustainable ways to provide food, water, and shelter to help wildlife thrive while maintaining a beautiful and functional landscape.
Hands-On Activity:
Participants will build a tree frog house—a simple yet effective shelter designed to attract and protect native tree frogs, which help control insect populations and are indicators of a healthy environment. Each participant will take home a tree frog house to place in their yard or garden.
Topics Covered:
✅ How to create a wildlife-friendly yard using native plants
✅ The role of tree frogs and other backyard creatures in the ecosystem
✅ Providing water sources for birds, butterflies, and amphibians
