Wildlife Discovery - Guided Hike

Join the Nevada Department of Wildlife for a guided wildlife discovery hike on the Acastus Trail within Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (Mt. Charleston). Escape the triple-digit summer heat of the Las Vegas Valley and enjoy the cooler mountain temperatures while exploring this unique high-elevation desert ecosystem.
During this easy, approximately 2-mile stroll, we’ll search for animal tracks, explore colorful wildflowers, and keep our eyes peeled for wildlife while learning about the unique plants and animals that call the Spring Mountains home. Discover the adaptations that help wildlife survive, the conservation challenges they face, and how you can help protect them.
The trail is rated easy, with one short, steep gravel section followed by mostly level terrain. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for mountain temperatures, and bring plenty of water.
SPACE IS LIMITED, REGISTRATION REQUIRED: https://nevada.events.licensing.app/em/events/4829
