Learn to capture the delicate beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park’s infinitely varied wildflowers with expert instructor, Bob Dean.
About this Event

The creation of strong, beautiful images is a combination of art and technique. You’ll learn to use the creative controls on your camera and the guidelines of photographic composition to capture gorgeous images of wildflowers and other plants. Participants will also learn how to use light to their advantage and discuss various techniques for composing images. This course is designed for beginner and intermediate photographers, and users of a variety of camera types are welcome!

This will be a two-part course where you'll learn to capture detailed images of the flora of the Rocky Mountains. Instructor Bob Dean will lead participants through a virtual classroom session on Friday evening. We'll then spend a full day in Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday traveling together in Conservancy vehicles to capture more intimate summer moments at a variety of locations throughout the park. Registration includes all required fees and permits for Rocky Mountain National Park.

Who: Participants ages 16 and up. This is a Level II course. Expect short-distance walks throughout the day, primarily on level terrain.

When: Friday, June 28, 2024, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm (Zoom) AND Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 8:00am to 4:00pm (field)

Where: Friday - Zoom, Saturday - depart from and return to the Estes Park Visitor Center at 500 Big Thompson Ave in downtown Estes Park

What to bring:

  • 10 Essentials for Field Courses,
