Penny Bieber, Core Team Chairperson and Project Coordinator for the Las Animas County Wildfire Plan.
Penny Bieber has been working to reduce wildfire risks in LAC for over 13 years. She was the Project Coordinator for the 2014 Stonewall Fire Protection District Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and is currently the Core Team Chairperson and Project Coordinator for the Las Animas County CWPP development. She has written numerous successful grants that have funded wildfire risk mitigation efforts in Trinidad's Purgatoire watershed. Penny practices what she preaches and has worked to "harden" her own home and reduce wildfire risk in her forests.
