This post is to help get the word out about this exciting week in Pigeon Forge. Please share if you know anyone who might enjoy this type of Nature event. Wilderness Wildlife Week at the Ramsey Hotel and Convention Center (and outdoor hikes in the Smokies) in Pigeon Forge TN. January 28 - Feb 1.
From their website: "Come celebrate the natural features, creatures and cultures of the Great Smoky Mountains. This year, we’ll be inviting some of the leading wildlife experts to lead informative discussions with you. This is a great opportunity to learn and ask questions about nature.
Showcasing what makes the Smokies so special, Wilderness Wildlife Week celebrates the abundance of wildlife, variety of plants, trees, and wildflowers, and rich history of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee through a series of classes, seminars, demonstrations, guided hikes, panel discussions, and workshops.
Wilderness Wildlife Week will be hosted in Pigeon Forge from January 28 – February 1 in 2025. You can begin planning now, a full schedule can be viewed at the link below. Please come back to this page to register for hikes, bus tours and craft classes beginning Wednesday, January 15 at 10am EST."
Mark Warren's participation will consist of 3 lectures. Wednesday Jan. 29 at noon - "Wild Edible Plants of Southern Appalachia," Thursday Jan 30 at 12:30 - "Survival Tricks of the Trail" and on Friday Jan 31, Mark will be the "Featured Speaker" at 7 pm on "A History of Native People in Southern Appalachia."
Please know that you will need to go to the website if you would like to sign up for hikes or some of the craft classes. You do not have to sign up to attend the event in general. It is free and open to the public. There are a plethora of classes, workshops, hikes, vendor booths, lectures, etc. to experience.
