Wilderness walks with no city noise are urban dwellers’ respite, the antidote to constant connectivity. Join Lori at the Weaselhead, a park that features some of the greatest biodiversity in Calgary, with over 300 plant species and over 200 species of birds. Chickadees are your constant companions on the Jackrabbit Trail, Lori’s favourite Calgary wilderness walk, that dips and climbs through the forest just below the popular Glenmore Pathway. Within minutes of the trailhead, you leave the paved path and begin a shaded walk on a rolling, single-track, dirt trail. All along you enjoy intermittent views of the Glenmore Reservoir. Hit the refresh button on your busy city life with a walk in the Weaselhead’s wilderness. A dose of nature calms the mind and engages the senses. This walk is led by Lori Beattie, the owner of Fit Frog Adventures and author of the just released 3rd edition of Calgary’s Best Walks with 95 Walks in Calgary, Cochrane and beyond!
