Don't let a dead phone leave you lost in the wilderness. ONX, Avenza and Gaia GPS are amazing tools, but what happens if your phone dies or takes an unexptected swim in a creek? It's critical to have the skills to navigate in the backcountry, which this class will equip you with all you need to stay on course.
Join us to master using a compass, orienting a map with precision, pinpointing your location and planning your journey through diverse terrain.
This class is for anyone adventuring to wilderness zones where trails may not be marked
Please wear clothes appropriate for weather conditions and bring a small backpack with water, sunscreen, bug spray and a snack. If you have your own compass, bring it too. This class typically runs between 3 and 4 hours depending on skill level and knowledge of participants. Please budget your day for 4 hours. A small class size may take only 3 hours, but we may need 4 if class is full.
This class takes place either at Lake Raleigh, in Raleigh North Carolina
