About this Event
Wildcat Community Iftar Banquet
Wildcat Community Iftar Banquet is a campus-wide gathering for the Northwestern community during Ramadan. Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and service observed by Muslims worldwide. Each day, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, then break the fast with an evening meal called Iftar. This banquet creates space for Muslim students and community members to observe Ramadan with support, and for non-Muslim peers to learn what Ramadan means through shared community, conversation, and food.
This event welcomes all Northwestern students, graduate and undergraduate, staff, faculty, alumni, and local community members. You do not need prior knowledge of Islam or Ramadan to attend. If you have questions, bring them. If you are coming to support friends, come as you are. If you are fasting, this is a place to break fast together. If you are not fasting, you are still encouraged to join, learn, and share the meal. The goal is simple: gather as one campus, learn from each other, and build a stronger community across identities and backgrounds
