Wild Ouseburn Talk | Wild Cities with Chris Fitch
About this Event
Part of the Wild Ouseburn Talks series, hosted in collaboration with Ouseburn Farm, as part of the Wild Ouseburn initiative. Supported by the the Reece Foundation’s Ouse Burn Way fund.
Join us at Ouseburn Farm for an evening in the company of Chris Fitch, author of Wild Cities, who'll be joining us online to share a talk and discussion.
As always, we'll have mince pies to enjoy during this pre-Christmas talk!
ABOUT THE TALK
Chris Fitch is a travel and science writer, and author of the excellent book .
"The majority of the world now lives in some form of urban environment. But as the human footprint of brick, concrete and metal expands, our proximity to nature decreases. This is a problem; nature isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. And it’s vital to our wellbeing.
From tiny urban forests in Tokyo and the star-rich skies of Flagstaff, to the meandering waters of Munich and prowling lions of Nairobi, this is a globe-spanning look at how to bring nature into the places we live – and how to create the wild cities of the future."
Come along for a cosy evening at Ouseburn Farm, as we join Chris together online via the big screen, to hear all about his journeys and discoveries of urban wildlife.
