Join Collin Gow, C.N.C. on the trail for a fun and informative plant identification hike in the Northdale area of Tampa, FL. Walk off your Thanksgiving meal with friends and family and learn the edible and medicinal uses of species. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM EDT. All ages welcome! 5 and under free. 6 and up, ticket required.
Collin holds certifications in nutrition, botany, wilderness first aid, herbalism, and dietary supplements. He is also an author of 6 books, a naturevore, and forager. On this hike he will teach you how to botanically identify many natural treasures, while also discussing their biological effects, herbal actions, nutritional benefits, Native American uses, and ethnomedicinal uses. You will have a whole new botany and wellness vocabulary by the end of it!
Whether you're a chef, gardener, nutritionist, holistic practitioner, plant lover, mushroom hunter, naturalist, survivalist, aspiring herbalist, re-wilder, into wildcrafting, or you just enjoy going for walks or taking nature classes, come on out. You will get some exercise and learn a lot. Arrive 15 minutes early for parking. Bring comfortable shoes or hiking boots, an umbrella, and water to stay hydrated. This class will take place rain or shine, so come prepared, and we will walk a distance of about 1 mile or less, mostly on a paved trail.
