Wild Lines - Writer's Retreat
For writers of the weird, the wild, the dark and the dismissed
About this Event
Wild Lines - Retreat
A 1-day writer's retreat, for writers of the wild, the weird, the dark, and the dismissed.
Writing does not wait for the perfect conditions. If it did, it would never happen. But often, we find our minds consumed by everything except the creative work that matters most to us as writers.
Facilitated by writers Bonnie Radcliffe and Jess Glaisher, the inaugural Wild Lines retreat will give you that structured, dedicated time that you need to focus on your writing projects. A chance for your brain to settle, your stories to unspool, your written world to become more vivid than your day to day.
Work in community with other writers
This small retreat will be a mini-community of like-minded writers coming together. Writing is so often a solo activity, that it is vital to meet other people doing what you do. Maybe you'll meet people who will become your writing buddies for years to come!
No need to share your work
There will be no pressure to share any of what you're working on, just an invitation to set goals for the day at the start, and reflect on what you've achieved at the end.
Pricing
We're offering three tiers of ticket for this event:
- Pay it forward - if you can afford a little more, this helps us offer lower cost places
- Cost price - standard ticket cost
- Concessions - for anyone who needs it, no questions asked
We also have 1 free place for a local-to-Margate/low income writer. These kinds of retreats can give your creativity such a boost, and we want that to be accessible to people who couldn't afford to pay the ticket price.
If you think you meet the criteria for the free place, you can book it. We won't ask any questions, and we won't let anyone else on the retreat know.
Tea, Coffee and Prompts provided!
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for all writers, and (in case you need some inspiration) we'll have some themed prompts available for you.
Lunch is not provided, but we'll share a list of local cafes that have delicious food. Or you can bring your own and eat it in the lovely garden space, or on a cosy sofa!
