Wild Game Processing at Sitka Vernon Hills

This is a FREE workshop and registration is NOT required. We will meet at the Sitka Gear store in Vernon Hills. This workshop is about how to process your own wild game. We will cut up a deer quarter and some small game, depending on availability.Join the Illinois Learn to Hunt team at Sitka Gear Vernon Hills for this wild game processing workshop.This workshop will be hands-on. Come dressed to be comfortable, but don't wear anything that you aren’t willing to get a little dirty!

We will break down and process a deer quarter (leg) and some small game animals together. Everyone will get an opportunity to do some processing (while supplies last). We will talk about meat care from field to table, as well as some of our favorite ways to preserve and prepare different types of wild game.We will have gloves, knives, sharpeners, wild game, packaging stuff, and everything we will need. You just need to bring yourself! Using knives is optional, if you would rather watch, that is fine.
