Our first fest in June was so much fun, we're doing it again - with an all new lineup of fabulous musicians!
We're so pleased to have these great artists joining us:
Yard Dogs Duo
Jessica Malone Band
Bob Mora & the Third Degree
The Katie Knipp Band
PLUS: A big jam finale to finish off the fest!
YARD DOGS DUO:
A new project celebrating old blues traditions, by the duo of Annette Taborn (harp) and Miles Lee (guitar). We're delighted to feature the first duo performance of these two long-time solo blues enthusiasts, as the Yard Dogs!
JESSICA MALONE:
Embracing her Northern California roots, Jessica Malone blends soulful lyrics with an earnest sound, bringing to life the landscapes of her home. Her oft-mellifluous, occasionally gritty, and always captivating vocals—accompanied by rich upright bass, heavenly harmonies, and soaring violin—will guide you across a musical terrain of retro soul, indie folk, and Americana vibrations.
Playing many festivals—Napa Earth, Davis Music, Bottle Rocket—Malone also performs on prominent stages such as The Harris Center Three and The Mondavi Center, in support of Arlo Guthrie, Joe Craven, Front Country, and John Paul White. She gathers a fine musical cast to join her!
BOB MORA & THE THIRD DEGREE:
Born in Chicago, Bob played with many south-side blues bands before moving to CA. He loves bringing others together to share his love of Blues, Soul and Reggae. This 6-piece crew of veteran, regional artists includes guitarist John Girton, Rob Holland on bass, keys by Al Feeney, and Scott Davis on drums, with Matt Langley on the sax. A local favorite!
THE KATIE KNIPP BAND:
Katie Knipp's voice sensually saunters from a playful Fiona-esque femininity to a powerful operatic. There is simultaneous familiarity and cutting edge experimentation to the sound. Stirring chords and heartbroken melodies. This is unquestionably the blues, but a new shade. Overflowing with the kind of painful self examination that growth requires, Katie Knipp’s latest release, Me, finds the artist exposed at the seams and sewing herself back together in front of her audience.
Her fourth top ten Billboard charting album, Me brings Knipp’s hard-fought personal and musical self awareness to the forefront of the contemporary Blues landscape. From sultry to social justice, Katie Knipp dives all the way in on Me, teaming her refreshing vulnerability with expert level musicality and composition. Knipp’s unique euphony and passionate storytelling has propelled her to stages alongside the who’s who of the Blues including Buddy Guy and Robert Cray as well contemporary favorites like Trombone Shorty and Fantastic Negrito.
Katie brings with her a sparkling lineup of music masters: Pancho Tomaselli, Steve Utstein, Quinn Hedges, and Neil Campisano.
