About this Event
Wild Child – A Family Primitive Skills Gathering
Oviedo, Florida
Step away from screens and step into the wild.
Wild Child is an immersive outdoor camping experience designed for families who want their children and youth to reconnect with nature, confidence, and ancestral skills. Set in the natural beauty of Oviedo, Florida, this gathering places kids at the center of the experience—learning by doing, exploring by curiosity, and growing through shared adventure.
Over the course of the event, families will camp together and participate in hands-on activities rooted in traditional and primitive skills, including:
• Survival and bushcraft skills
• Primitive hunting skills and projectile use
• Animal processing and respectful use of resources
• Wood-fired and open-fire cooking
• Nature-based crafting and tool making
• Outdoor awareness, tracking, and self-reliance
Wild Child is about more than learning skills—it’s about belonging. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, get dirty, and discover what they’re capable of, while parents learn alongside them or support from nearby. Every activity is guided with safety, respect for nature, and age-appropriate instruction in mind.
This is a space where:
• Curiosity is celebrated
• Families learn together
• Ancient skills meet modern community
• Nature becomes the classroom
Whether your family is brand new to camping or already comfortable around the fire, Wild Child welcomes you. Come build confidence, create memories, and awaken the wild, capable spirit in your children—and yourselves.
🌿 Unplug. Gather. Learn. Thrive.
