WILD BABIES is a free, weekly outdoor program designed for infants aged 0–18 months and their parents/caregivers.
About this Event

Thanks to Nature London's Eco Grant, we have the capacity to run a FREE outdoor program just for babies !

This program will be offered for children 0-18 months old with their parent/care giver and will be run each Wednesday afternoon at Westminster Pond.
Registration through Eventbrite will be required for this program and sessions will run for 3-4 weeks.
By offering "session" sign ups rather than drop-in programs, we allow the opportunity for parents/care givers to meet with the same group week after week to build stronger connections and form friendships.

WILD BABIES is a free, weekly outdoor program designed for infants aged 0–18 months and their parents/caregivers. This initiative extends our established family programming (WILD CHILD) to intentionally include our youngest community members at a critical stage of development. By providing structured yet flexible outdoor experiences at no cost, WILD BABIES removes financial barriers and increases equitable access to early environmental education.

Program Structure:

Pre-Session Preparation: The facilitator arrives early to assess weather conditions and set the space using seasonal natural “provocations” (e.g., fallen leaves, pinecones, snow, puddles, seed pods).

Welcome & Orientation: Families gather and are welcomed into the space, with a brief overview of safety and environmental respect.

Exploratory Walk: The group embarks on a short, accessible walk introducing seasonal flora and fauna.

Gathering Circle: Families settle in a natural area for songs, storytelling, sensory exploration, and guided caregiver discussion.

Closing Reflection: Caregivers share observations and build community connections.

Please note that this program is designed around natural curiosity and child-led play in nature. The structure of this program provides a lot of variation in delivery based on the season and weather, making every program truly unique.

Programs will run in all weather conditions, only cancelling if we hear thunder or have an air quality advisory (AQHI > 8) that prevents us from safely spending time outside. If programs are cancelled for any reason, you will be notified through an Eventbrite email.
