A Wild At Heart retreat (formerly BASIC) isn't just another men's retreat. That's the last thing anybody needs. The reason most messages for men ultimately fail is simple: they ignore what is deep and true to a man's heart and try to shape him up through various forms of pressure.

Not this. This event is an honest, no-BS trek into the deep passions and desires of a man's heart, the healing of the wounds he's taken in this battle, the realm of fatherhood and sex and God and calling—life as it was meant to be lived.

For over two decades, Wild At Heart retreats, featuring John and his team in-person, have taken place in remote locations around the world. Previously, only individuals who could afford and manage the travel had access to these impactful gatherings. Today, this transformative event is accessible to men everywhere by empowering local hosts in facilitating this life-changing journey for the men in their communities. Wild At Heart retreats package all video sessions from the live events, along with resources designed to support local hosts.

Through the sessions, times of quiet reflection, movies, adventures and downtime, you will discover something profound about the heart of God and the heart he gave you as a man. Those who come say it is one of the greatest weekends of their entire life. Now It’s your turn.

Intended Audience:

Registration is open to men 18 years and older.

Location: We’re heading out to Camp Buckner near Burnet, Texas—right in the heart of the Hill Country. It’s a rugged, well-run spot where we’ve hosted multiple retreats, with solid facilities, a great team, and plenty of room to breathe, reflect, and recharge.

Included in Cost :

$250 - This cost includes 4day/3 night stay at Camp Buckner, all meals during your stay (8 meals beginning Thursday dinner - Sunday breakfast) and various available camp activities (basketball courts, disc golf course, fishing ponds, hiking trails).

Payments Dates:

$100 due by 8/28, $200 due by 9/28, Full $250 due by 10/1

Lodging:

Hotel Style Lodging- included in the registration price: rooms have one full bed and two XL twin bunk beds, indoor toilets & showers, AC & Heating. Towards the bottom of the form you will be given an option to request up to 4 other participants to bunk with you.

Things to Bring:

1. Your bible & journal
2. A water bottle
3. Comfortable clothing
4. Camp chair for campfires
5. Any gear needed for your favorite activity (swimming, fishing, discing, sports)

Check-in is from 7pm-8pm Thursday night and the opening session will begin promtly at 9:00pm so get your time off request for Friday in for work now! It's about an 1.5-2hr trip from Austin so plan your travel time accordingly.

We highly recommend reading by John Eldredge before the retreat. While it’s not mandatory, the book will help you become familiar with the language and key themes we’ll be exploring during our time together.
