Wild and Tame: Animal Linocut Printmaking Workshop with Luna North
About this Event
Guided by professional linocut artist Luna North, participants will learn how to design, carve and print their own unique linocut artwork, drawing inspiration from the beauty and character of animals both domestic and wild. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, this hands-on workshop offers a creative and rewarding introduction to traditional printmaking techniques. Open to adults and young people aged 14 and over when accompanied by an adult. All materials provided.
Luna North studied for a BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting at Falmouth College of Art (1982–1984), developing a love of landscape painting influenced by the Romantic traditions of Cornwall. Since moving to Exmoor in 1987, the moorlands, wildflowers, and ever-changing light have remained a constant source of inspiration, shaping her distinctive approach to capturing the beauty and atmosphere of the natural world.
Studio Kind is situated at the far end of and within Barnstaple Pannier Market. During out of hours, the market can be accessed by a small wooden door from Butchers Row.
Nearest Car parks are the Cattle Market car park or Barnstaple Central. There is disabled parking on Boutport Street.
The bus station is a 5-minute walk away and the train station a 15-minute walk or bus journey of 10 minutes.
Our venue is wheelchair friendly and accessible to all. There are accessible toilets right next door.
