Our monthly meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, membership and volunteer opportunities for our Veteran community, we welcome you to attend.
You DO NOT need to own or ride a motorcycle to become a member of our organization. Membership is open to anyone who wants to help our Veterans and the communities they live in.
However, as a member of the organization, attendance is expected at our meetings and Patriot Rider events that we host:
January: Annual Brat Fry at The Gravel Pit Sports Bar & Grill, Kiel
March: Annual Chili Competition & Bake Sale
June: Annual Dennis J Murphy Memorial Ride/Cruise
August: Annual Dustin J Knapp Memorial Car/Bike Show
October: Annual Axe-Treme Competition
We also encourage our members to join in community events that are centered around our Veteran community.
We always do our best to plan our events out with an extended notice to our members and public, but sometimes we are asked to help other organizations with a short notice, such as memorial rides or escorts for Veteran families.
We encourage you to attend a meeting to see what our organization is all about and to ask any questions you may have.
Who We Are:
MISSION STATEMENT
The Patriot Riders of America® WI Chapter 2 goal is to represent and serve our Wisconsin American Veterans by realizing the needs of those who have served our Country and to give aid to those who have fallen on hard times.
Our mission is to raise money for the following programs: Housing Assistance, Medical Assistance, Personal Assistance and Outreach Veteran "Operations" by conducting a variety of fundraising events, including auctions, raffles, ride/cruise events, car/bike show events, dinners, competitions, and by any lawful means of fundraising projects to service this purpose.
Our objective is to make a positive impact in our communities by providing the necessary support and guidance to reestablish a renewed outlook for a self-sufficient and productive lifestyle to those who desire the opportunity to reach their potential and be a part of the America that they fought to defend.
The Patriot Riders of America® WI Chapter 2 is a non-profit charity 501(c)3 organization located in Manitowoc County and serves the following other communities as well in Sheboygan County, Calumet County, Brown County, Kewaunee County and Door County. Our organization’s goal and objective is to support ALL our Military, Veterans and their families throughout Wisconsin, along with a special focus in our six counties closest to our registered office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
PROA WI Chapter 2 was founded June 28, 2022, by Tommy Knapp and Jenny Matte, both residents of Manitowoc County. We started this nonprofit organization in memory of two people - Dustin J Knapp, US Army Afghanistan Veteran (Tommy's son, who was killed August 16, 2010) and Dennis J Murphy, US Navy Vietnam Veteran (Jenny's Step-Dad, who passed away November 16, 2021) to honor our heroes in their memory and to help their brothers and sisters who are in need of support financially, physically and emotionally. We host many events throughout the year, and some events are dedicated to certain Veteran Service Organizations and other events are used to replenish certain accounts for many different programs and services we offer for our Active Military and Veterans.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:
Housing Assistance: provides financial assistance to Veterans for mortgage or rent payments, utility bills, home repairs, yard maintenance and more.
Medical Assistance: provides financial assistance to Veterans for medical bill payments, prescriptions, transportation costs and medical equipment costs.
Personal Assistance: provides financial assistance to Veterans for personal items such clothing, hygiene items, groceries, personal bills, vehicle repairs/bills, phone bills, pet care and other personal needs.
Outreach Veterans “Operations”: various programs and visits to assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, home visits and community events where we support our Veterans with gifts, personal need items, conversation, bakery, birthday parties, pinning ceremonies, funeral services, escort services, and more.
