Are you looking to add plants to your garden that do not need special pampering or fertilizing? Would you like to add plants that are drought tolerant and have a good chance of surviving Houston winters?
This program will share how Willow Fork Park has incorporated Texas Native plants into our gardens and which plants have thrived. You will learn how people define a “native” plant and why and how they have adapted to local eco-systems.
After a short program, we will walk through the gardens to see examples of Texas Native plants.
You will also receive a handout of our favorite native plants, Internet resource sites and locations to obtains Texas native plants.
Meet at the Willow Fork Park pavilion at 9:00 a.m.
Willow Fork Park was developed by Willow Fork Drainage District in collaboration with Katy ISD and is located at the northwest corner of 99/Grand Parkway and Cinco Ranch Blvd., north of Cinco Ranch High School.
This is a free family–friendly activity for all ages.
