Why the Moon?: An Overview of the Artemis 2 Mission by an Engineer Who Worked on It
Schedule
Sat Feb 21 2026 at 06:00 pm to 08:00 pm
UTC-06:00Location
201 Cox Ave., Suite 4, Hattiesburg, MS, United States, Mississippi 39402 | Hattiesburg, MS
This conversation is hosted by Jonathan Simeral, an Engineering Manager who worked on the Orion spacecraft for 15 years. Come and hear about what it takes to design and build a spacecraft to send humans to the moon for the first time in 50 years!
Tickets to this event, which is hosted at Mulukakao's chocolate and coffee shop, will include admission to the lecture, a themed cocktail and dessert, and a coffee or cocoa beverage. This is the perfect opportunity to emphasize that the artisanal chocolates at Mulukakao are out of this world, and it would be mission: impossible to find fresher coffee anywhere in the United States.
It's Rocket Science! (I was going to insert a moon landing denier joke here but denying the moon landing is no laughing matter.) (Flat-earther jokes are no better.) Bring a friend or come make new ones!
