About this Event
This discussion will present findings from the book by Lundy Bancroft: Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men. You do not have to read the book to participate - the discussion will summarize the book's material. Subsequent to the discussion, you may choose to read the book. By introducing this material in a facilitated group, we can have a safe and supportive environment to digest the findings and share with others facing similar struggles.
Lundy Bancroft is a counsellor who works with abusive men. He explains what goes on in their heads when they engage in abusive, cruel, demeaning behaviours. Don't they feel bad about what they are doing? How do they sleep at night? Do they feel love? Will they ever change? What can I do to make things better? How come sometimes they can be so nice, and other times they can be so mean? Which is the real guy? If you have asked yourself these questions, this workshop will explore what has been learned from working with controlling men, and help you understand what is really going on.
