When the challenges facing society feel bigger than any one of us, what can we actually do about them?
About this Event

Elevate Great event

From rising inequality and poor housing to climate change and pressures on democracy, it can be easy to feel that meaningful change is out of our control. But how can each of us help shape the society we want to live in?

Join Elevate Great and the University of York for Who’s in charge? an afternoon of ideas, discussion and debate led by Professor Ingrid Robeyns, a leading philosopher exploring inequality, wealth and social justice.

Professor Robeyns will look at what it means to be an active citizen, and how our choices, voices and collective action can help create positive change. Her keynote will be followed by a cross-sector panel discussion and audience Q&A, bringing different perspectives into the conversation.

Whether you’re active in your community or simply curious about how change happens, come along to listen, question, contribute and explore the difference we can all make.
