What begins as a bicycle ride becomes a journey of discovery.
Who's The We? follows Minneapolis pastor and activist Doug Pagitt as he leads a small group of cyclists on a remarkable 66-day ride along the entire U.S.-Mexico border before continuing east along the Gulf Coast to St. Augustine, Florida. Along the way, the group encounters people from diverse backgrounds, challenging assumptions and exploring questions of identity, belonging, immigration, and what it truly means to be part of "we."
Following the screening, stay for a live Q&A with the film's directors, Clayton Brown and Kimberly Sullivan.
Clayton Brown is an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose previous films, including The Atom Smashers, The Believers, and We Believe in Dinosaurs, have screened at film festivals around the world and have been distributed nationally and internationally. His work focuses on uncovering compelling stories through the lives of extraordinary people.
Kimberly Sullivan is co-founder of Split Focus, LLC, and has worked across narrative and documentary filmmaking as a producer, sound recordist, and filmmaker. Who's The We? marks her first feature-length documentary as co-director.
This screening is part of the 50th Anniversary Season of the South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, one of the nation's longest-running programs connecting independent filmmakers with communities across the South.
🎟 Tickets are $7 and are available at DothanOperaHouse.com or through the Dothan Civic Center Box Office.
Experience an unforgettable documentary that invites audiences to consider community, connection, and the people we meet along the journey—and stay afterward for a conversation with the filmmakers who brought the story to life.
