Soap Making. Soap is made through a chemical reaction between lye and a fat, creating the surfactant we know and love. Because lambs are high-fat animals, we will use some of the lamb fat to make soap. Soap from animal fats is gentle and prized in skincare, and in this case, makes use of the animal we will harvest to its fullest. Kelly Clark will be leading this class at Coit Road Farmer's Market. We will have small samples for you to take home. Come for what you can of this workshop series, you do not need to attend it all to enjoy part of it.
