Whodunit... The Musical

Wealthy socialite Carrie Innes and her maid have rented a secluded country home for a relaxing vacation, to be joined by her niece, Sally, and Sally’s beau, Jack. But things aren’t as they first appear. It’s not long before a dead body is found in the living room…and that’s just the beginning! Led by Detective Jarvis and the mysterious butler, Johnson, Carrie and her guests uncover the clues, unmask the imposters, and get to the bottom of the crime in this affectionate spoof of the “Golden Age” of M**der mysteries.

The performance will be a staged concert production; it will be performed in costume with some props, but will not feature sets, lighting effects, etc. The show is performed in two acts with an intermission.

“Whodunit…The Musical” is written Ed Dixon, and is based on a story by Mary Roberts Rinehart. The play is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

“Whodunit…The Musical” is recommended for mature audiences. It contains suggestive language. Parents are requested to use their discretion in determining if this production may be suitable for their children.

“Whodunit…The Musical” is the twenty-first musical production to benefit the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland! After 18 years of annual productions (2002 – 2019), the team took a three-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, returning in 2023. Northeast Ohio audiences will recognize the talented performers in this year’s cast from their appearance both in previous ATFGC benefits and on stages throughout the region. Eileen Burns, who has appeared in eight previous benefit musicals, leads the cast as Carrie Innes, with Trey Gilpin in the role of Liddy, the Maid. Sally is played by Natalie Green, joined by Pat Miller in the role of her boyfriend, Jack. Brian Altman runs the household as Johnson, the enigmatic butler, and Eric Fancher, playing Detective Jarvis, tries to make sense of it all. Ms. Green and Mr. Fancher are members of Actors’ Equity Association, performing with the permission of the Theatre Authority.

Mr. Seevers accompanies the show on piano, along with Tim Keo on bass. Mr. Keo is the only performer who has appeared onstage in 19 of the previous 20 benefit productions.
