Are you interested in helping New Covenant host the incredible literacy program, Whiz Kids, this fall? Starting in September we will host Orvis Risner Elementary students every Thursday afternoon for one-on-one reading practice! Join us for an Interest Meeting and lunch on Sunday, June 28th at 12:30pm in the Chapel following the 11:00am Worship Service! There is a financial cost to launch and sustain this ministry. One of the ways we care for students each week is by providing a light snack each week, and New Covenant will need to cover that cost. Beyond finances, our greatest need is people. To run this program well, we need 30 or more volunteers week to week. The bulk of those will be tutors, but we also need 2-3 people to lead the program itself and others to help with hospitality, food, and simply being present.
This is a tremendous opportunity for us to bless and care for our neighbors in a way that truly makes the love of Jesus known.
