Would you like to paddle on whitewater on your own but lack confidence about safety? Join us on the first WW SUP rescue course and you’ll always know how to predict and avoid danger and save yourself or your friends in any situation. Let's learn how to cooperate with nature, stay safe and also master SUP in the waves! After this course, you will be able to paddle safely on WW SUP Class II-III.
This WW SUP specific rescue course is organised by Bovec-SUP (Sebestyén Tóth) and Gaspar Göncz, rescue instructor and assessor.
Gaspar has 20+ years of experience in teaching Rescue and assessing guides all around the world. His experience led him to become the Second Vice President of the International Rafting Federation.
Sebestyén is a founder of Bovec SUP, Rescue 3 Europe certified whitewater guide and BCU certified whitewater SUP instructor with 10+ years of experience.
It'll be practical and it'll be fun! We will spend every day on the stunning Soča River and connect theory with immediate practical experience.

⏰ Date: April 15th-19th, every day around 10:00-16/17:00
📍Place: Bovec, Soča Valley, Slovenia
📃Certificate you gain: Rescue 3 Europe, Whitewater Rescue Technician - Recreational (WRT-REC).
📆 Program Plan:
Day 1: WW SUP skills – full paddling day with skills development
Day 2: Rescue Theory 1 – basic rescues on the water (swim, throwbag, shallow water techniques, knots)
Day 3: Rescue Theory 2 – rope rescues on the water (tethered swim, diagonals, wraps and pins, mechanical advantage systems)
Day 4: Rescue Scenarios – entrapments, casualty management
Day 5: WW SUP full paddling day on the river class III-IV-
🪢 Gear you need to have:
- Throwbag – if you don't have one, don't buy it. Gaspar will bring the right ones for the course and you will also have an option to buy it.
- River rescue gear – bring it with you if you have, otherwise we will provide it for the course.
- River knife – the only gear you must have on your own.
⚠️ Minimum requirements:
- Confident swimmer
- Experience on WW
- Age 18
👥 Maximum group size: 8 paddlers

- 2 full days of WW SUP coaching with certified WW SUP coach
- 3 days of rescue practice with Rescue 3 instructor and assessor
- Rescue 3 learning material package + registration fee
- Rental of all WW SUP equipment
- All shuttles from Bovec to the starting point and back
